TIDES AND CURRENTS
The extreme range of astronomical tides is 5.5 ft (1.7 m). The current in the Port of Pichilingue is minimal and runs along the length of the channel. La Paz Channel has a strong current with a maximum of 4 kt. The current for this Port also runs along the length of the channel.
A tidal gauge is located at the north end of the Commercial Pier in Pichilingue Bay (Figure IV-21).
