CABO SAN LUCAS

LOCATION

Cabo San Lucas (24°09'N 110°18.5'W) is located at the southern tip of the Mexican Baja Peninsula (Figure V-1 and Figure V-2). The maritime distance between the ports of Cabo San Lucas and La Paz is 162 nmi. The Port does not have a commercial capacity and the economy is wholly dependent on tourism. Cruise ships arrive and depart on a daily basis and normally anchor in the Outer Harbor. Cabo San Lucas is one of the best sport fishing locations in all of Mexico. The Inner Harbor is small and is normally used by sport fishing craft, sailing vessels, and launches which service the many cruise ships and visiting Navy and Coast Guard vessels.
