TIDES AND CURRENTS
Acapulco normally has a 1.5-3 ft (0.5-0.9 m) tidal range. According to the pilots during the site visit in August 2002, the current sets east-southeast and attains a rate of 0.5 kt to 3 kt off Acapulco and for some distance to the east. Currents in the Port are negligible.
Tidal gauges are located at the Naval Base in the southeastern part of Acapulco Bay and at the Yacht Club in the northeastern part of the Bay. Tides are not measured at the Primary Pier.
