PIPELINE PRESSURE ISOLATION SERVICE
The purpose of the SmartPlug service is to isolate an onshore or offshore section of a pipeline whilst at operating pressure. The SmartPlug tool is the world's leading isolation tool. It is well proven having completed over 130 pressure isolation projects worldwide.
By isolating pipelines at full operating pressure, assets connected downstream can continue production. The use of SmartPlug eliminates flaring of gas and displacement of pipeline product.
TDW's extensively field-proven tetherless communication system allows high-precision and reliable setting and monitoring of the tool. The SmartPlug allows pressure testing of the pipeline modifications.
PIPELINE TAPPING AND PLUGGING
TDW has performed tapping and line plugging services for platform and subsea projects around the world. Our service technicians performed the first underwater STOPPLE plugging job in the Gulf of Mexico.
Standard applications include SubSea 1000 tapping service with taps from 6in to 16in, at pressures up to 2,200psi, and the capability to work at depths down to 1,000ft. More demanding sub-sea taps to 36in, at 1,480psi, are also available from TDW Services.
PIPELINE PIG TRACKING
Accurate pig tracking and location of pigs is easily done with TDW's SmartTrack system. The system revolutionises pig tracking by using two-way, through-wall communication between the transponder and receiver.
OFFSHORE PIG TRACKING
The pig tracking system is designed with offshore subsea operations in mind and has several advantageous features like long battery life, the ability to cope with high pig speed, and heavy wall or deep burial pipelines. The pigs are traceable by in field operator, ROV, diver, subsea antenna or a permanent receiver anywhere along your pipeline. When running multiple pigs the SmartTrack system immediately tells you which pig you are detecting.
SUBSEA PIPELINE CLAMPS
TDW's clamp designs enable rapid manufacture, delivery and installation of clamps to fit pipeline sizes and pressure ratings that are not readily available in the market. The clamps are installed by ROV or divers.
PIPELINE RECOVERY TOOLS (PRT)
Pipeline recovery tools are used for recovering subsea pipeline ends to the surface. TDW has a fleet of PRTs for rental and we can customize our tools to meet any specific requirement on short notice.
TDW's Internal PRT is equipped with a fail-safe pipeline internal gripping system that mechanically self-locks after setting of the tool. By using an internal lifting tool, there is no need to prepare the pipe end to allow recovery. This shortens the recovery time and facilitates quick repairs. TDW can provide SmartLift Internal PRTs in all pipe sizes. The tools can be made to include sealing functions, enabling the tool to facilitate hydro testing and flushing operations.
