SchuF Fetterolf

Profile

SchuF Fetterolf designs and manufactures isolation and control valves for the most severe service conditions found in the chemical, petrochemical, oil, gas and offshore industries. They include isolation and control valves capable of coping with high pressure drops (to >200bar), high temperature (to 1,000°C), significant media solids content (70%) or a combination of all three.
Control valves for offshore applications
SchuF has a broad range of control valves suitable for pressure letdown, temperature, feed and level control in offshore applications. Key features include:

Angle, Y-globe, or wafer control valves
DN 25 (1in) to DN 600 (24in) forged or cast
Body geometry with constant acceleration to the seat
High Cv value throughput
Cv sizing for three-stage flow
Flow to open or close valve designs
Single or multistage letdown
Linear, true equal percentage and SchuF X³ bell-curve control characteristic
Tight shut-off (Class VI – API 598)
Hard metal, ceramic or coated body and trim parts
Easy-to-replace trim parts

Its expertise in material and long-life trim design enables SchuF to address the effects of corrosion and cavitation common in offshore and maritime applications. Valve reliability is improved in offshore applications by paying particular design attention to entrained solids in the media (such as sand, weld slag or pipe scaling), which can cause clogging and equipment damage.
Customised control valves
Each SchuF control valve is customised according to the customer's piping requirements and process variables. This ensures optimum valve performance, superior noise and vibration control, and extended trim life.
Control valve applications in the oil, gas and offshore market include high-pressure separator letdown; overboard dump valve; water reinjection pump-recirculation valve; gas to flare control; feed pressure and flow control; and variable choke valves.
Maritime line-blind valves
Absolute positive shut-off is essential on FPSOs, oil rigs and maritime vessels in order to carry out maintenance or shutdown in case of emergency. The SchuF Fetterolf maritime line-blind valve is ideal for this severe environment due to a number of features:

One-man, one-side operation
Quick blind changing (less than 1min)
No line spreading or bolt removal
Positive dead-tight shut-off
Sizes of 1in to 20in
Approved to ASME 150# to ASME 900# standards
Special reinforced design, safe for offshore use

The maritime line-blind system is provided with a monel stem, brass handwheel, stainless-steel bolting and a Sermetal 85 coating. They are fast to operate, safe and convenient.
Maritime automatic recirculation valves (ARC)
The protection of large centrifugal pumps on FPSOs, platforms and maritime vessels is critical to ensure operational efficiency and safety. ARC valves protect pumps during low load operation, and provide a non-return and pressure-modulation functionality. They are typically used to protect crude oil pumps, booster pumps and boiler-feed water pumps.
SchuF provides a range of standard ARC valves from 1in to 14in and up to ASME 4500# class as well as a special offshore ARC valve design. Offshore ARC valves' applications include:

Seawater injection pumps
Seawater lift pumps
Firewater pumps

Special body (e.g. seawater-resistant duplex with 22% chrome) and trim materials are used in these applications.
Offshore isolation valves
SchuF produces a wide range of isolation valves for use in the oil, gas, and offshore industry. These include Y-globe valves, lift plug valves and high-pressure isolation control valves. Typical applications include:

Pipeline and process isolation
Emergency shutdown
Emergency letdown
Boarding isolation

All of these valves can be provided with maritime or severe-service trim and body materials.
Diverter, changeover and drain-bottom outlet valves
SchuF Fetterolf also provides diverter, changeover and drain bottom outlet valves.
