Parkburn PHS

Profile

Parkburn Precision Handling Systems (PPHS) is a specialist marine handling systems supplier that has provided quality and bespoke systems and equipment across a wide range of offshore applications since 1968.
Turnkey marine handling systems
PPHS provides a complete in-house service, encompassing all project prerequisites including design, manufacture and test, installation, commissioning and in-service support equipment, ranging from simple winches to fully synchronised deck spreads of back deck equipment.
Subsea cable, pipe and flexibles handling systems
PPHS designs, manufactures and supports systems and equipment used to deploy and retrieve subsea cable, pipe and flexibles on (or below) the seabed. PPHS satisfies its worldwide customer base with quality, rugged and reliable equipment designed and manufactured to the highest standards.
Utilising state-of-the-art electronic drives and controls, PPHS equipment is easily integrated (where required) with the ship's existing systems and other primary equipment, producing safe and controlled product management from the storage position to subsea touchdown, managing the lay in fully automatic, semi-automatic or manual control, in speed and / or tension control, to pre-determined route and slack requirements.
PPHS systems and equipment used to lay and retrieve cable, pipe and flexibles include carousels / turntables; tensioners; loading arms; manipulator arms; static-tank loading arms; linear cable engines (LCE); capstan drum engines (CDE); draw off hold-back engines (DOHB); cable transporters / haulers; stern sheaves; overboarding systems; and tension management systems.
Dive bell handling systems
PPHS designs and manufactures dive bell handling systems specific to clients' requirements and to the highest standards of quality and reliability. Utilising state-of-the-art design tools in conjunction with PPHS' proven production engineering and manufacturing techniques and its market-leading drives and control facilities, PPHS provides the client with a truly turnkey service.
By meeting all class technical, mechanical, electronic, hydraulic and software certification requirements while providing clients with extensive interface knowledge and experience, PPHS' reputation as one of the market's most reliable dive bell handling system suppliers is growing.
The PPHS systems and equipment used to deploy and recover dive bell systems typically include dive bell lift and umbilical winches; guide wire and clump weight winches; hydraulic and electrical heave-compensation systems; bell handling trolleys; cursor assemblies; bell docking assemblies; bell wire sheaves; umbilical sheaves; sheave shock absorbers; and clump weights.
Deepwater, heavy-payload and fibre-rope winch-handling systems
Exploration and subsequent oil and gas production in the ever-deeper subsea environment has created a market requirement for cost-effective means of deploying deepwater structures and tools to the sea bed.
Modern fibre ropes, which exhibit near to zero weight in water, lend themselves to the deployment of heavy subsea packages, but give rise to special handling considerations. PPHS has researched many different technologies and fibre-rope handling techniques, resulting in it commencing manufacture of an 85t fibre rope SWL winch system.
Umbilical winches, handling systems and equipment
PPHS designs and manufactures umbilical winches and umbilical handling systems specific to the client's requirement. PPHS umbilical winches are typically electrically driven, can be of single or bi-reel design, and can be supplied with or without integral spooling, tension control and/or heave compensation features.
PPHS umbilical winches are of compact and rugged design, mostly self-contained and portable. They are quickly mobilised, usually requiring only an electrical supply to commence operations.
Drives and control systems
PPHS provides a turnkey service for all your electronic drives, motors and controls requirements. The specialist drives and controls division located in Hamilton, Scotland, has been a manufacturer and integrator in the offshore, marine and naval handling system markets for over 25 years, in addition to numerous industrial market sectors that include process and machine control, data acquisition, information management and material-handling control systems.
The PPHS design and manufacture capability meets all required class requirements across mechanical, electrical (software and hardware) and hydraulic disciplines, utilising AutoCAD and Inventor 3D design and modelling facilities. PPHS is an ISO 9001:2008 registered company supplying engineered systems and equipment to a worldwide customer base.
