Weighing of offshore modules, topside and jackets
JWS provides the weighing of offshore modules, topside and jackets. Approximately 400 weighings of between 30t and 15,000t have been performed by our experienced weighing team. Weighing results are displayed on individual displays for each load cell utilized, after which the weight and center of gravity can be determined with very high accuracy.
Our project experience includes the weighing of the 9,000t Talisman Bunga Raya E topsides and a series of piperacks and modules up to 2,000t for the Bohai II FPSO, which required weighing prior to their lifting and installation by Asian Hercules.
Jacks, strandjacks and alternative lifting services
JWS provides jacks, standjacks and alternative lifting services. Strandjacks are often used as an economical means for horizontal pulling for skidding loadout.
Our project experience includes assembly of the Maari 2,400t wellhead jacket structure, in reverse order, using a towerlift system in combination with a skid system and cranes; jacking of a 2,200t deck structure on the Jascon 28 using 36 pieces of 200t jack ‘n’ pack jacks and hardwood jacking timber; and for alternative lifting methods, the assembly of a column at a petrochemical plant using a tower and strandjack solution.
Quay crane relocations
JWS offers quay crane relocations to customers in the oil and gas industry. We have a range of project experience, including crane relocation ventures in Singapore. For one project, two units of transportation beams were purposely mobilized and installed to enable the two cranes to be loaded within 24 hours at Jurong port in Singapore using self-propelled trailers.
For another project JWS utilised skid shoes, which were set up in order to load a rail-mounted quay crane at Singapore. Another JWS project consisted of loading cranes 128 and 129 at PSA, Singapore, using a skid shoe-based skidding system with a capacity of 2,400t.
