LOCATION
Mackay is located on the central part of the northeast coast of the Australian state of Queensland (Figure XI-1). The Port of Mackay is situated some 5 nmi east of the city of Mackay. The entrance to the man-made Mackay Harbor is located at approximately 21°06'24"S 149°13'54"E.
