Pusan Harbor, the Republic of Korea's principal deep water port, is divided by Yong Do Island into a North Harbor and South Harbor. Each Harbor is further divided into Inner and Outer Harbors.

Pusan New Port is being built around Gadeog Do to the west of the Port of Pusan and is scheduled to be completed by 2011. It is currently operational but is primarily used by commercial vessels. As of the Site Visit in May 2009, U.S. Navy, MSC, and Maritime Prepositioned ships do not use Pusan New Port.
