  • 女川町内／宮城県牡鹿郡女川町 Onagawa Town is the closest to the earthquake source. Oyster, scallop, and salmon farming is popular in this town. In addition, numerous fishes, which species are rich and inhabit warm and cold currents, had landed on Onagawa fishery market. Around this market, around 6,000 people lived. The tsunami of 15m height attacked this area and destroyed everything. Now, no one can see this sight anymore.
  • 万石浦／宮城県石巻市 Mangoku-ura is a lagoon in the Ishinomaki City. Seaweed, oyster, and clam farming is thriving in this lagoon. Although the tsunami reached to this lagoon, it didn't destroy large number of houses around this lagoon.
