United Metallurgical Company (OMK) is one of the key players at the Russian and interna-tional metallurgical markets that produce equipment for power, transport and industrial en-terprises. OMK comprises five large metallurgical plants: Vyksa Steel Works (Nizhniy Novgorod Region), Almetyevsk Pipe Plant (Republic of Tatarstan), Chusovoy Steel Works and Gubakha Coke (Perm Region), and Shchelkovo Steel Works (Moscow Region).
The Vyksa Steel Works manufactures 15-1420 mm carbon steel pipes with a wall thickness of up to 48 mm with two- and three-layer polyethylene corrosion-resistant coating. The Almetyevsk Pipe Plant manufactures 15-219 mm pipes.
OMK pipes are all API certified.
Among the major consumers of OMK pipes are such leading Russian and foreign compa-nies as Gazprom, LUKOIL, Transneft, Surgutneftegas, Rosneft, ExxonMobil, Royal Dutch/Shell etc.
OMK regularly takes part in and wins prestigious international tenders. OMK is an indisput-able leader in the solid-rolled railway wheels production (over 50% of the Russian market). The solid-rolled wheel workshop of the Vyksa Steel Works is the world's biggest producer of solid-rolled wheels exported to 15 countries.
OMK is the key suppler of large-diameter pipes for the North European Gas Pipeline and Eastern Siberia-Pacific Ocean Oil Pipeline. In 2006, VSW produced more 800 thousand tones of large - diameter pipes.
