Trelleborg Viking

Profile

Trelleborg Offshore Norway (Trelleborg) is is an experienced manufacturer of sophisticated rubber solutions. The core business is to protect, damp and seal in order to increase safety and securing flow. The company serves the global oil and gas industry, renewable energy projects, marine and defense markets through manufactured corrosion and jet fire protection materials, flexible connections, thermal insulation and blast and impact protection. The systems are designed and supplied to match the lifetime of the client's installation. Specifically the products include flexible piping systems, passive fire protection materials, corrosion protection and thermal insulation. Flexible piping system ELASTOPIPE™ is a cost-effective, 150lb flexible piping system, which is corrosion free, and explosion, impact and jet-fire resistant. This makes ELASTOPIPE ideal for use on offshore and onshore oil and gas installations, as well as for other harsh and hazardous environments. The system has been used in the oil and gas industry worldwide for more than 12 years, mainly for fire water systems, but also for a variety of other applications ranging from transport of sea water to hydrocarbons. As a cold work installation system, enabling installation during production, ELASTOPIPE is ideal brown field upgrades. Passive fire protection technology Trelleborg's Firestop technology has been developed to withstand the exposure of jet fire and is generally known as Firestop and Jet Firestop technologies. These technologies include a series of materials and products, in addition to well-proven engineering and manufacturing techniques for protection against blast, impact and all kinds of fire. Most of the applications are customised and project specific, protecting structures and objects from exceeding critical temperature limits. The Firestop technology contains layers of polymer material to meet other requirements such as corrosion protection, thermal insulation and mechanical protection. Rubber corrosion protection Combating all kinds of severe corrosion has been a focus of Trelleborg's business for more than 60 years. Rubber is chemically resistant to most corrosive liquids, gases, salt water, and ozone and UV-light; all corrosive agents commonly encountered in the offshore sector. Anywhere steel is exposed to corrosion; it can be protected with a rubber corrosion protection. Rubber-based thermal insulation Trelleborg´s rubber-based thermal insulation is known as Vikotherm. Vikotherm includes several options with respect of materials, insulating capacity, temperature range and application. The system is well proven and has a track record from 1988. Vikotherm includes engineering and manufacturing techniques for the thermal protection of various subsea components. The solutions and applications are customised and designed to meet the most demanding requirements. The company design products and solutions that provide the critical and necessary flow assurance for the subsea production systems, spools and equipment. Vikotherm also provides corrosion and hydrogen-induced cracking protection subsea. A history in rubber production Established in 1896, Trelleborg is the largest manufacturer of rubber products in Norway and is a part of the global Trelleborg group, including 22,000 people in more than 40 countries. 100 years of competence has been refined into advanced polymer technology for the global market. Safety for people and the environment has always been the main focus for the application of the products. Within the offshore industry, the company holds an experience of more than 30 years. Oil and gas industry references Trelleborg has delivered projects to all major players in the oil and gas industry, including BP, ConocoPhillips, ExxonMobil, Hydro, Maersk, Shell, Statoil and Total.
