Pipe welding and fabrication services
SGR provides a range of general pipe and plate fabrication services to complete assembly and testing, including NDE and hydro testing of flow spools, pipe fabrication, skid manufacture and metering systems.
We offer these services for one-off basic projects to some of the most demanding applications and challenges. We capitalise on our expertise and knowledge to deliver projects to tight schedules, safely and reliably.
Operational, engineering and project management for pipe welding and fabrication
SGR’s combination of operational, engineering and project management along with practical hands-on experience is unique. Our ability to recognise key areas and understand all technical and commercial issues enables us to offer a service designed to match the requirements of any project and the needs of our clients, which in turn make all aspects of the project an outstanding success.
SGR dedicates a project manager to individual projects in order to enhance the flow of communication between SGR and its customers, and create a trusting relationship between manufacturer and client. The remit extends from contract award to after-sales, and includes decision-making power regarding allocation of additional resources that may be required during any phase of the project.
Off-site and on-site welding fabrication services
SGR offers a range of off and on-site welding fabrication services, including automatic and semi-automatic.
Fully automatic welding
SGR offers fully automatic butt welding using gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) and gas metal arc welding (GMAW) processes, from 1in diameter to 30in, for all materials including duplex / super duplex, alloy 625 and 3+4 series stainless steel.
Semi-automatic welding
SGR’s semi-automatic welding services include butt welding and fabrication using GTAW, GMAW, shielded metal arc welding (SMAW) and submerged arc welding (SAW) processes, from 1in to unlimited diameters. Semi-automatic welding is suitable for all materials, including duplex / super duplex, alloy 625 and 3+4 series stainless steel.
Manual welding
SGR offers all manual welding types.
Welders and fabricators hire services
At SGR, we employ 28 pipe welders and fabricators, but have immediate access to more than 100 via our database. We offer a labour hire service to companies throughout the world, including welders, fabricators, general labour, supervisors and project managers. All of our staff have the relevant experience and knowledge for each industry and are available for long or short-term hire.
Pipe welding and fabrication facilities
SGR operates from a 15,000ft² pipe welding and fabrication facility with two 10t overhead cranes. The facility has two fabrication stations, six manual/automatic welding stations, two fully automatic spooling stations capable of double jointing, and in-house NDE and hydro testing. In addition, there is a 6,000ft² clean facility for stainless-steel fabrication.

SGR operates a certified quality assurance system to ISO 9001:2008, which is certified by LRQ.
