Seasafe Marine Software & Computation

Profile

Seasafe Marine Software & Computation (Seasafe) specialises in onboard loading and stability computers for offshore structures, such as semi-submersible offshore platforms, jack-up rigs, floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) vessels and wind-farm installation ships. Seasafe's computers also support all types of sailing ships, including oil tankers, container ships, cable-laying vessels and pipe-laying barges to bulk carriers, passenger ships and heavy lift vessels. Classification societies, government bodies and emergency response agencies use Seasafe due to its high-quality results. A number of vessel models have been created using its software, as its result calculations closely correspond with the values observed onboard or through physical model tests. 3D graphics-driven software for calculating naval architecture The SEASAFE Professional system is built on the experience and strength of Seasafe's older products such as SIKOB, PLF and GFab. The system is a fully integrated computer-aided design (CAD)-type 3D graphics-driven package for naval architectural calculations. While it covers all the functionality of both 3D modelling and applications in one program, it is also compatible with the older file / project formats of Seasafe's previously released systems. The SEASAFE Professional system is currently used worldwide by offshore drilling and production operators, ship designers, consultancies, ship owners, government regulatory bodies and flag authorities, classification societies and shipping companies. Vessel design and booklet production The SEASAFE Professional system allows for rapid development of the 3D vessel model, which is suitable for running the necessary calculations for the production of related booklets and marine operations manuals. A 3D wind model can also be created in the software to calculate how the wind affects the vessel's stability. The user-friendly and configurable report function enables quick output customisation and production directly from the software, either in PDF or editable MS Word formats, and incorporates text and graphics from other sources into one single document. Loading and stability computers for ships, semi-submersibles and jack-ups Previously known as GStab, the SEASAFE-Onboard system has been delivered to hundreds of vessels, including supply ships, heavy lift offshore support vessels, FPSOs, jack-up rigs and semi-submersible rigs. Seasafe configures its system according to each vessel's specifications, in order to provide a user-friendly interface for performing loading operations, stability and strength calculations and other compliance-related checks. SEASAFE-Onboard generates the same high-quality results and advanced onboard functionality as SEASAFE Professional, while the user interface is simplified to only include what is necessary and suitable for onboard use. A vessel model built using SEASAFE Professional can be used on SEASAFE-Onboard to run loading and stability calculations. Customisable system configuration The configuration of Seasafe's software follows the guidelines in marine operations manuals or trim and stability booklets. There are specific features for all types of vessels, including nomograms (allowable leg loads for different environmental parameters such as wind speed, sea current, water depth), penetration versus leg reaction diagrams, deck load management for jack-up rigs and crane operations, which include dual-lift for heavy lift vessels, loading / discharging sequence planner and connected / disconnected modes on FPSOs. The software also contains special features for moored and dynamically positioned vessels and provides additional functionality to automate day-to-day tasks carried out onboard. Class-approved software with electronic data exchange Seasafe's onboard software is class-approved according to industry specifications, including direct onboard damage stability calculations (IACS URL 5 - type 3 loading instrument). Seasafe handles every approval aspect of its onboard software for all leading classification society for any type of vessel. The SEASAFE-Onboard system enables electronic exchange of all necessary information via internet or email such as loading conditions and daily reports. Tank-level and draught-gauging system connectivity Provided the communication protocol such as MODBUS or another proprietary one is known, the SEASAFE-Onboard system can be connected to any tank-level and draught gauging system via a RS232 / RS485 / RS422 serial cable or an Ethernet cable. Seasafe additionally has experience in establishing a data exchange link between its systems and numerous third party automation and calculation systems, in order to suit the requirements of its clients and increase their productivity.
