SEA provides installation and trenching services for pipes, electrical power cables and fibre optic cables in an underwater environment. Our capabilities include the burial of sea lines (3in to 50in); pre or post-trenching of shore approaches; laying and burying of power and fibre optic cables; river crossings; and small diameter pipeline installation and assembly. Post-trenching machines for pipeline works SEA is the world leader in post-trenching activities because it avails from the experience of Franco Ballestri, who was the first to introduce the system in Italy. Since 1974 almost all AGIP pipelines in the Adriatic sea have been buried by post-trenching machines (PTMs) invented by Mr. Ballestri, and the company has carried out numerous projects for various multinational corporations, such as Petrobras, McDermott, Techint, ANCAP, Acergy and Global Industries, to name a few. Trenching of pipelines and cables The PTMs can operate from very shallow waters (in shore approaches) up to 100m water depth. The company distinguishes itself from others as its machines can also trench through rock. The PTMs designed for trenching pipelines include: Speedy PTM; Jolly PTM; Piper PTM; Combo PTM; Dual PTM; and Leo PTM. The equipment designed for trenching cables includes: MAC 1, MAC 2 and MACRO. SEA oversees and supervises the construction of its PTMs. The extreme versatility to adapt to project specifications and requirements of the machines make them a success. Marine support vessels for trenching works SEA also has the use of two vessels. The Iskatel-2 is a DP2 catamaran vessel completely restructured in 2009. It has a draft of 2.5m and can host up to 25 people. Its main objective is to support trenching operations, but it is also available for all offshore activities such as surveys and general support. Trimaran Rossana is a modular pontoon that is easily transportable both by land and sea. It was modified from a catamaran to a trimaran for safety and versatility reasons. With a draft of 1.5m, it is an ideal means for jobs in shallow water and in-shore approaches.
