Profile

Prysmian Cables & Systems is a world class multinational company. Formerly Pirelli Cables and Systems, the company has its origins from 1879. It has achieved a leading position for more than a century of operations in the provision of both energy and telecom cables and systems.
The Prysmian Group is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of Energy and Telecommunication cables with 54 manufacturing facilities in 21 countries, more than 12,000 employees located in 36 countries across five continents and seven R&D centres in Europe, USA and South America.
Prysmian integrated cabling solutions are among the world's most comprehensive and technologically advanced answers to a wide range of industry, infrastructure, contractors and OEM's specific requirements. We offer a wide range of offshore cables including: power cables, instrumentation cables, light duty power cables, and light duty instrumentation cables.
Every offshore platform requires an extensive, integrated power, instrumentation and control and communication system that excels at three core characteristics:

It performs under the most demanding working conditions
It preserves human safety
It protects the environment

Over the last 25 years, Prysmian has provided cabling solutions for more than a hundred projects world wide that satisfies these conditions delivering a tailored, single-stop source for all power and communication network cabling needs for such harsh and critical environments.
Prysmian offshore cables
Prysmian Technergy™ Offshore cables are designed and engineered with the close cooperation of the main international oil and gas operators, and are manufactured with the most advanced material and technologies from Prysmian laboratories.
Prysmian offer harmonized cabling solutions suitable for any type of offshore application such as FPO, FPSO, drilling ship, topside and FSU. The range encompasses products for upstream, downstream and processing, land based power generation and marine uses as well.
Umbilicals
Prysmian offer the full range of long length thermoplastic and steel tube umbilicals for both static and dynamic applications qualified up to 2,000m water depth.
Offshore power cables
All offshore cables offer the following features:

Fire behaviour - IEC 60332-1-2 flame retardant, IEC 60332-3-22 fire retardant and IEC 60331-21 fire resistant
Chemicals resistance - outer sheath resistance to chemicals
Impacts - cable mechanical resistance to impacts
Smoke density, corrosivity and toxicity - low emission of smoke, acid and toxic gases, IEC 61034 (smoke) and IEC 60754 (acid and toxic gases)
Temperature - permissible minimum temperature during laying
Severe weather conditions - resistance to sun and rain
Bending radii - minimum bending radius for installed cables

Instrumentation cables
Prysmian instrumentation cables are available unarmoured and individually or collectively screened. These are also fire retardant, halogen free or reduced halogen cables.
Light duty power cables and light duty instrumentation cables
Prysmian light duty power cables and light duty instrumentation cables have been tested offer the following standards in performance:

IEC 60092-350 general construction and test requirements
IEC 60092-351 insulating materials for shipboard power cables
IEC 60092-352 choice and installation of electric cables
IEC 60092-353 single and multicore cables with extruded solid insulation for rated voltages 0.6kV / 1kV and 1.8kV / 3kV
IEC 60092-354 single and three-cores power cables with extruded solid insulation for rated voltages 6kV up to 30kV
IEC 60092-359 sheathing materials for shipboard power cables
IEC 60092-376 (2003-05) 150V / 250V cables for control and instrumentation circuits
