Markleen is a leading supplier of oil spill response equipment and services. The company's constant dedication to research and development, combined with years of operational experience, has led to the development of a wide range of oil spill response products, which have proven its capabilities in contingency operations worldwide. The product range includes oil containment booms, skimmer systems, floating storage tanks and dispersant spray systems, among others. Markleen provides tailored oil spill solutions to fit the customer's specific requirements and any given application. Our product portfolio includes solutions for offshore oil spill response, coastal protection, oil terminal and port spill response, river response and shoreline clean-up. All equipment manufactured emphasises ease and speed of use, along with maximum operator safety. Markleen is based near Oslo and operates through a global network of agents and distributors. Oil containment booms The first course of action in any response operation is to contain the spilled oil, and Markleen manufactures a complete range of booms for this purpose, suited to a wide range of applications and conditions. Top of the range is our world-renowned Uniboom® X-series self-inflatable boom, which maximises operator safety and offers unbeatable boom deployment speed, of critical value especially when operating in harsh offshore conditions. Our A and C series foam-filled booms are the tried and tested solution for oil spill containment in coastal and port waters, while our Z Series inflatable booms have proved time and time again to be a reliable choice for rougher waters and offshore use. Oil skimmers for oil spill recovery Oil skimmers are used to recover oil spills from water and Markleen manufactures a comprehensive range of skimmers with capacities ranging from 10m³/hr to 280m³/hr for use in coastal, port and offshore environments, as well as in the removal of industrial oily waste. Markleen MultiSkimmers feature easily interchangeable brush, disc or drum cartridges to cover the full range of oil viscosities, and have a very high oil recovery efficiency, which independently witnessed laboratory tests have established as less than 2% water as compared to oil in the recovered liquid. We also manufacture high-capacity brush / weir skimmers for offshore oil skimming operations. All skimmers manufactured by Markleen feature prestigious brands of pumps, which will prove reliable at pumping oil in the toughest of environments. Temporary oil storage tanks After oil spill containment and recovery, temporary oil storage facilities are required and Markleen manufactures a number of solutions to this end. Markleen is able to provide oil storage tanks for use on land and in water, including our land-based EasyTank and AutoTank range, and our versatile Unibag® range of towable, floating tanks, which are the ideal solution for storing and transporting large amounts of spilled oil - even in remote locations. Ancillary oil spill equipment Markleen's oil spill response packages are backed up by in-house manufactured hydraulic equipment, such as hydraulic boom reels, hydraulic power packs and air compressors. We are also able to provide complete dispersant spray systems, comprised of pump and spray arms, for oil spill dispersant application from a vessel. Sorbent booms for oil spill recovery To complement our range of oil spill equipment, we also manufacture sorbent booms, including our highly popular skirted sorbent booms, for use in all oil spills, regardless of size. In fact our experience has proven that in many small to medium-sized oil spills, Markleen sorbent booms are often the principal means of combatting oil pollution. Worldwide experience in oil spill response operations Markleen equipment is used on all five continents and has proved vital in major oil spill clean-up operations over the years, including the 2002-2003 Prestige disaster and the 2010 Gulf of Mexico spill.
