K2

Profile

K2 provides a wide range of industry training focused on safety, inspection and technical competency. Our training courses are conducted in accordance with or accredited to industry-recognised standards such as IRATA, IMCA, British Standard, LEEA, and many more. K2 is an overseas associate member of LEEA.
Height safety training
Falling from height is the biggest cause of occupational fatalities in the oil and gas industry. However 90% of accidents can be prevented with proper personnel training.
To address this, K2 provides height safety training for a range of clients with the objective of helping personnel to understand the tools and equipment used on the job and how they work. At the end of the course, personnel will be able to assess fall hazards and take corrective actions.
K2's height safety training is compliant with the National Association of Tower Erectors (NATE) standards. Our courses are also controlled via K2's integrated quality, environmental and safety management system.
Rope access (IRATA) training courses
Rope access work can only be carried out in a safe, reliable manner when operatives are competent, suitably experienced and trained, capable of inspecting and assessing their own equipment and are subject to appropriate levels of supervision.
IRATA has developed a formal training scheme and grading structure for workers depending on their experience and level of assessment. K2 provides the full range of IRATA levels 1, 2 and 3 courses in accordance with the standards defined in IRATA's "general requirements for certification of personnel engaged in rope access methods."

Our training structure is one of the most comprehensive in the world. To date, we have trained over 600 technicians in all levels. IRATA levels 1, 2, and 3 training courses provide the following:

IRATA level 1: a technician who is able to perform a limited range of rope access tasks under the supervision of a level 3 supervisor
IRATA level 2: a lead technician who is capable of rigging working ropes, undertaking rescues and performing other rope access tasks under the supervision of a level 3
IRATA level 3: a technician who is capable of complete responsibility for work projects, is able to demonstrate the skills and knowledge required of levels 1 and 2, is conversant with relevant work techniques and legislation, has a comprehensive knowledge of advanced rescue techniques, holds a current first aid qualification and has knowledge of the IRATA certification scheme

Inspection training
K2's inspection training programmes provide the optimum combination of classroom and practical training. Simple, highly effective and delivered in interactive multimedia learning environments, our industry-accredited courses are designed to impart high-quality skills and provide an in-depth understanding that is relevant to the industry.
Non-destructive testing training, qualification and certification
K2's non-destructive testing (NDT) training programme offers a comprehensive training, qualification and certification service for NDT personnel. Our training classes are a combination of theoretical knowledge of NDT methods and their practical applications. We provide the following NDT training classes for level I and II:

Visual inspection testing (VT)
Liquid penetrant testing (PT)
Magnetic particle testing (MT)
Ultrasonic testing (UT)
Radiography testing (RT)
Eddy current inspection (ET)
Alternating current field measurement testing (ACFM)

Our NDT programme is designed to meet global training requirement standards such as ASNT SNT-TC-1A, CP189, BINDT, ISO9712 and EN473.
