Accredited maritime and offshore training courses IDESS holds accreditations and approval from: Offshore Petroleum Industry Training Organisation (OPITO) UK Maritime and Coastguard Agency The Republic of Liberia Philippines Maritime Training Council Norwegian Maritime Directorate Panama Maritime Authority Vanuatu Maritime Services Offshore safety induction and emergency training course IDESS offers a basic offshore safety induction and emergency training course designed to meet the initial offshore safety and emergency response training and assessment requirements for personnel new to the offshore oil and gas industry. During the BOSIET programme, delegates will gain a basic level of understanding and awareness of safety and emergency response on offshore installations. The course includes a safety induction, helicopter safety and escape, sea survival, and firefighting and self rescue. It is open to both prospective and serving offshore workers, and is OPITO approved. Further offshore emergency training course IDESS’ further offshore emergency training programme is designed to meet further offshore safety and emergency response training and assessment requirements for personnel working in the offshore oil and gas industry. This course may be taken to upgrade an unexpired Tropical BOSIET or FOET to the BOSIET / FOET standard. During the FOET programme, delegates have the opportunity to practice and demonstrate skills that are not covered during drills, exercises and offshore training. Topics covered in the course include emergency first aid, firefighting and self rescue, helicopter safety and escape. The course is open to those holding a valid OPITO BOSIET, FOET, Tropical BOSIET or Tropical FOET course certificate. Underwater remotely operated vehicle pilot technician course IDESS’ underwater remotely operated vehicle pilot technician course content is in line with the IMCA guidance documents and syllabi for ROV-related training courses. Conducted in conjunction with Subnet Services, the course will provide trainees with considerable hands-on experience in flying and working with remotely operated underwater vehicles in the realistic environment of Subic Bay, in addition to theoretical instruction. The course is designed as an entry-level course for personnel with no prior operational experience. Once completed, the trainee will have gained knowledge, understanding and experience in the operation of remotely operated underwater vehicles. The course is open to personnel who have a good background in electronics, hydraulics, pneumatics, plant maintenance, electrical or mechanical engineering. Maritime and offshore computer programs and IT services IDESS Interactive Technologies (IDESS IT) was formed in response to the demand to provide seafarers access to learning resources away from a training centre. IDESS IT has developed into a recognised provider of quality computer programs for many industries. IDESS IT provides case studies, commodity trading, human resource information systems, environmental products, health and safety, tanker operations, security and navigation. In addition, the company provides HR consultancy, multimedia production, competency development and management, and digitising of documents, drawings and plans.
