Established as Fabbrica Nazionale Cilindri in 1927 as a manufacturer of made-to-measure mechanical components, FNC has been manufacturing fire prevention fittings for storage tanks and tank venting accessories for more than 50 years.
Our range includes flame arresters, low-pressure weight-loaded relief valves, emergency vents and blanketing systems.
Venting and fire-prevention fittings for storage tanks
FNC is a leading, innovative, international supplier of a wide range of venting and fire-prevention fittings for low-pressure storage tanks. We offer our products and services based on our broad and deep knowledge of market developments, product properties, product applications and processing. This enables us to contribute positively to our customers' and manufacturers' business operations.
Flame and detonation arresters
We provide three different types of flame and detonation arrester: end-of-line flame arresters, bi-directional flame arresters for in-line deflagration, and bi-directional flame arresters for in-line detonation.
Pressure / vacuum relief valves (breather valves)
Pressure / vacuum (PV) relief valves are designed to protect tanks against rupturing or imploding. As long as the tank pressure remains within the valve pressure and vacuum setting the pallet remains in contact with the seat ring and no venting or breathing take place. If direct atmosphere discharge or nitrogen is used on a vacuum inlet, a flanged connection is available.
TFE-lined breather valves
We also supply TFE-lined breather or PV relief valves.
Pressure relief valves
Pressure relief valves are weight-loaded vents designed to prevent tank deformation caused by increase in internal pressure. When tank pressure reaches the valve pressure setting, a weight-loaded pallet is lifted to allow the excess pressure to be vented to the atmosphere or piped away.
Pallets have a knife-edged ring with sealing or metal-to-metal. A mesh screen over the inlet prevents foreign matter from entering.
Weight-loaded vacuum-relief valves
We also supply weight-loaded vacuum-relief valves.
Vent-line / in-line flame arresters
Vent-line / in-line flame arresters are mounted directly upstream or on the vacuum inlet of breather vents.
Sample and gauge hatches
Hatches are made in LP models and sealed to keep the internal tank pressure between 50bar and 70bar.
Emergency vents
Our emergency vents are sized to provide emergency relief when the tank becomes over-pressured, and when internal pressure is beyond the capacity of a breather vent. Available in sizes from 20in to 24in, venting requirements can be calculated using API2000. Our emergency vents are also available in a weight-loaded, hinged-arm design.
ISO and ATEX certification
FNC obtained ISO 9000 certification in 1994 and has always paid great attention to quality and to innovation offered by the market in order to enable more rational and efficient production.
Since 2003 FNC has been ATEX-certified according to directive 94/9/EC. Flame arresters are tested to EN 12874 and certified to ATEX 94/9/EC by independent third-party institutes.
