Escape Safe (UK) is a world leader in the supply and installation of photo-luminescent safety signs and low-level escape systems for the offshore and marine industries. Offshore safety signs, low-level escape systems and marker tapes Escape Safe offers a worldwide full turnkey service ranging from initial full vessel and offshore facilities surveys, write-up and quotations, through to supply and installation. Our product range includes: Safety signage for marine and offshore applications (in foreign languages) Photo-luminescent low-level escape systems Photo-luminescent self-adhesive marker tapes Photo-luminescent paint systems, stair nosing and matting Fire-fighting and safety equipment cabinets (e.g. fire extinguishers and EEBDs) Safety clothing (high-visibility vests and armbands) First-aid, safety and training posters, first-aid kits, first-aid centres and accident books Eyewash stations Engraved brass and traffolite tags and signs Pipeline identification marker tapes (ISO 14726) Personal protective equipment Temporary tie tags Security and barrier tapes Photo-luminescent material for safety signs, low-level escape systems and marker tapes Escape Safe now uses a new type of photo-luminescent material for its safety signs, low-level escape systems and marker tapes. This material has three to four times the luminance performance of ordinary 'Class A' photo-luminescent materials, offering improved ease of recognition, legibility and durability. The material is Marine Equipment Directive (MED) and Lloyds type approved for marine applications and exceeds the requirements of ISO 15370 and IMO Resolution A752(18). A certificate of conformance can be provided for the photo-luminescent material. AAA photo-luminescent safety products have been optimised using the latest unique technology to provide the following key features: Exceptionally high brightness within the first few minutes Conspicuous signs and notices that can be clearly read in total darkness (ideal for life-saving applications) Improved material technology, reducing ageing and weathering performance and providing a better quality, longer lasting product Exceeds standards DIN 67 510 Part 4 and IMO A.752(18) Offshore safety sign refurbishment (North Alwyn platforms) Following an initial full safety sign survey on-board the North Sea oil platforms North Alwyn A and B, Escape Safe has successfully supplied and installed over 8,000 new safety signs covering both platforms, and has also installed 500m of low-level escape system in the accommodation block on North Alwyn A. In 2002 Escape Safe carried out a total safety sign refurbishment of the Nelson Platform and fitted new signage and a low-level escape system on the East Area Project accommodation block. Offshore safety sign projects (FPSO vessels) Escape Safe's largest contract to date was on FPSO Bonga, the world’s largest FPSO vessel. We carried out a full vessel survey to determine the requirements for escape route, fire and IMO safety signage, then supplied over 90 safety plans and 5,000 safety signs and supervised their installation. Jim Capstick of Escape Safe has also been involved with full vessel safety sign surveys and installation of safety signs on the following FPSO vessels: Glas Dowr, Bleo Holm, Haewene Brim, Maersk Curlew, Ramform Banff and Global Producer. Safety signs and low-level escape systems for drilling rigs Escape Safe has surveyed, supplied and installed safety signs, low-level escape systems and pipeline marking tapes on the following drilling rigs: Borgsten Dolphin, Byford Dolphin, Blackford Dolphin, Petrolia, Amazone (jack-up rig). Safety signs and low-level escape systems for dive support vessels Escape Safe has surveyed, supplied and installed safety signs and low-level escape systems on the following dive support vessels: DSV, Texas, Eclipse, Orelia, Wellservicer, Marianos, Rockwater 1 and Deep Pioneer, as well as on the pipe-laying barge Apache. All-weather workwear with integrated lifejacket Escape Safe can provide all-weather workwear with a built in lifejacket from the Ki range of foul weather clothing. Available in EN 396, 150 N and 275 N Solas approved, these suits can provide thermal protection according to Class D (EN ISO 15027), which makes it possible to survive for one hour in cold water (5°C). Some versions also have HI VIS EN 471 Certification, EN 1149 electrostatic properties, EN 14116 protection against heat and flame, limited flame spread and EN 13034 chemical protection. The Ki range is fully automatic inflation with manual back up and is suitable for use in coastal waters and different levels of use offshore, subject to level of buoyancy.
