Eisenbau Krämer

Profile

Eisenbau Krämer mbH (EBK), has been producing longitudinally welded steel pipes since it was established in 1921. In the early 1970s, as new sources of energy became accessible under the sea, there was a rapid increase in the demand for thick-wall, large diameter pipes.
Continuing the company's ambition to be a quality supplier, EBK was the first German manufacturer to obtain ISO 9001 certification for the production of longitudinally welded steel pipes. We produce high quality offshore and construction steel pipes suited to the most diverse applications for international markets on a worldwide scale.
Since the late 1950s we have produced pipes for the offshore industry and supplied them to projects all over the world. During the last ten years, EBK has become a manufacturer of not only standard steel pipes, but also a supplier of special pipes to be used in critical applications.
OFFSHORE PIPES
Offshore pipes include rolled and welded tubulars, cans, legs, piles, bracings, conductors, risers and tethers.
CONSTRUCTION PIPES
Our construction pipes cover a range of applications including bridges, stadiums and high-rise buildings.
STEEL STRUCTURES UNDER WATER
We also produce pipes for steel structures under water. These include piles, dolphins and anchor piles.
LINE PIPE AND PROCESS PIPES
The line pipe and process pipes range covers transmission lines, flow lines, jetty lines, steam lines, slug catchers, compressor stations and pump columns.
PIPES FOR MACHINERY COMPONENTS
Our pipes for machinery components include felt rolls, wire rolls, press rolls, dryers, reel spools, winder drums, hydraulic cylinders, cable drums, yarn rollers, rolls for weaving machinery, cardan shafts, dryer rolls.
PRODUCTION FACILITY FOR LINE PIPE AND OFFSHORE APPLICATIONS
Based upon all three production plants located in Germany, EBK can produce 110,000t of pipes per year. The main production facility for line pipe and offshore applications is located in Kreuztal, with an annual output of approximately 80,000t. Additionally, approximately 15,000t of process pipe is produced in the mill in Littfeld.
The third manufacturing plant in Recklinghausen is used for production of very heavy wall pipes and prefabrication work. Size range:

Diameter - 12in up to 180in
Wall thickness - 26.5in up to 10in
Pipe length - 43ft without circ welds (140ft including circ welds)

EBKPOWER - HEAT RESISTANT STEEL PIPE
EBK carries out the production of heat resistant steel pipes for power stations. In 1999 EBK was the first company to supply welded Gr91 for a hot reheat system in a power plant in India. Years of experience in the production of such materials and detailed knowledge about material behaviour gives great confidence to EBK's customers.
EBKCLAD - METALLURGICAL BONDED CLAD PLATES
Based on cooperation with one of the world's largest producers of metallurgical bonded clad plates, EBK supplies welded clad plates to the market. Using the electro slag-welding method EBK is able to produce large tonnages for offshore and onshore applications.
Additionally weld overlay on the inner and outer surface of the pipe can be offered. Base materials in various carbon steels, according to ASTM and API are used, with cladding of Alloy 625, 825 or stainless materials like 304L, 316L and 904L. Other combinations are also possible.
EBKCRYO - WELDED PIPES FOR CRYOGENIC APPLICATIONS
The latest development EBK has introduced is the manufacture of welded pipes for cryogenic applications. This requirement comes from an ever expanding market for transportation and storage of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG). New receiving and loading terminals require substantial quantities of steel pipes usable at cryogenic temperatures.
Ni based materials satisfy these requirements, but non availability of weld filler metals created difficulties in using them effectively. EBK now has enhanced weld methods and can offer pipes with longitudinal and circumferential welds with overmatching mechanical values to the base materials.
