OFFSHORE HEALTH AND SAFETY MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS
Quality, health and safety and the environment are very important to Cofely Oil & Gas. In recent years, the company has built up an excellent reputation in the industry. The system has been accorded ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OSHAS 18001, VCA**, EN-ISO 3834-2, PED modules D/D1 and H/H1, ASME U and ASME S certification.

PLATFORM ACCESS SYSTEMS
Providing efficient marine access to an offshore facility saves time and money. Offshore Solutions, a joint venture from Cofely Oil & Gas and Amec, has designed an Offshore Access System (OAS). The OAS is a specialist piece of equipment that gives maintenance staff easy access to ‘normally unmanned installations’ (NUI) located offshore. Traditionally, helicopters have been hired to take operatives on to such facilities, which is expensive and often limited by poor flying conditions. In the Southern North Sea, some 75% of helicopter flights are used for NUI shuttling and the number of these facilities requiring servicing is steadily growing.
The OAS meets the need for a more reliable, safe and more cost-effective way of carrying out this vital oil and gas production activity. The system relies on a supply vessel that maintains position near the platform. It features a hydraulically operated heave compensated and extendable gangway that connects the vessel to the platform to allow an efficient and safe transfer of crew and equipment in up to 2.5m Hs waves. In addition, the system allows increased flexibility in planning and significantly reduces risk to personnel.
